Shelley proved the surprise package at the last meeting of the Horsham Primary Schools Netball League Division B this season, coming through from mid-table to top spot as a result of four straight victories. Leaders at the start of the night added two wins to their first meeting total but suffered a critical 4-3 loss to Kingslea B in the night’s most exciting match.
Indeed Kingslea B was the toughest test for Shelley too but the Broadbridge Heathers came through it by the odd goal in three. Greenway provided good resistance too but Shelley prevailed 3-1 in that one. Kingslea B’s reward for some excellent netball on the night was third place, two points above a Leechpool B team that had plunged from second position at the start of the night.
Next down the standings came Greenway and North Heath B both on 20 points but the former took fifth courtesy of superior goal difference. Leechpool C finished seventh on 14 points, leaving St Mary’s Horsham on bottom spot with 11, although they were delighted to obtain their first win, 2-1 over Leechpool B.
Well done to all players and teams for their contribution to the process and the patience shown by all in the face of numerous weather cancellations over the course of the season.
