Heron Way A won the Horsham primary schools year 5+6 girls football cup at the Tanbridge astroturf last night. They beat perennial rivals Southwater A 1-0 in a close fought final. Leechpool A beat Shelley to take third place on a cold and wet night.
The first phase of the evening saw the 11 teams split into two round-robin groups from which placings dictated what positions each team would contest in the second phase.
Despite a difficult group stage Heron Way B emerged as the top team (fifth overall) in the mid-table section play-offs with two 1-0 wins. Kingslea beat Castlewood by a single goal. Leechpool C pipped Pulborough on goal difference to take overall ninth in the lower section play-offs.
