The next generation of netball talent in the Horsham area was on show at Millais School on Thursday as school year 3+4 children (aged 7-9) gathered in a festival event under the tutelage of a year 9 group of sports leaders from the secondary school.

11 teams from eight schools – Kingslea, Arunside, Shelley, Leechpool, Holbrook, Southwater, St Robert Southwell, Heron Way – took advantage of the opportunity to improve their skills, refresh on the High Fives rules of the game and play some practice matches. All the children responded enthusiastically to the opportunity.

The Millais leaders did a super job of inspiring the youngsters working in sub-teams to provide a variety of warm-ups, undertaking passing skills drills, working on shooting skills and then fulfilling jobs in refereeing matches and contributing as team supervisors/helpers.

With over 100 children total taking part the future of netball in Horsham looks bright.
