Some more good matches were played tonight at The Bridge in the second meeting of Pool A of the Horsham Primary Schools Netball League. Phase 1 f the league is now completed and groups will be re-arranged for the new year with promotion of the top teams to an upper division and the others formiong a lower division.
Leechpool A and Southwater both started the second night with maximum point records and things stayed like that with both blowing away opponents up until the last round when the two met each other. And what a fitting climax ensued as the two went toe-to-toe to share five goals, Leechpool A just squeezing through victorious by scoring three of them. Both comfortably promoted though and a Phase 2 re-match already being much anticipated.
More Southwater-based success came with Castlewood taking third place by adding another three wins to their tally. The final promotion place went to Nuthurst courtesy of their superior goal difference over Leechpool B. The two met in the first round of the night and shared the only draw of the group 2-2 to emphasize the similar ability of the two outfits.
Shelley took sixth place after taking a couple of heavy beatings but improving in a 4-2 loss to Leechpool B before enjoying a 5-0 win over Greenway.
Leechpool C and Greenway continued to fight valiantly but neither was able to gain a second night win. Leechpool C’s best performance came in their last match against their own B team when they went down 3-2. Greenway will be looking to get some shooting practice in before the process re-starts after Christmas.
