Horsham Primary Schools Netball League Pool B was the first of the two pools to complete Phase 1 tonight at The Bridge leisure centre.
Kingslea A and North Heath A both started the night as the two unbeaten teams from the first meeting and therefore as heavy favourites to top the round-robin table. After both won in the first round of games everything came down to when the two faced each other next up. And the encounter did not disappoint as North Heath A won an exciting match 11-7.
North Heath A then confirmed its prominence with a 9-2 victory over All Saints in its last match. Kingslea A got back on the horse in good style however holding off Heron Way’s challenge for second spot with a close 6-4 win over them. All three were well out in front to claim places in the top division in Phase 2 in the New Year.
The other four teams will stay put in the lower division in the next phase. All Saints topped this pack. Although their win-loss record was similar to Kingslea B and North Heath B they had more points by virtue of gaining more losing bonus points and indeed had a better goal difference than both. Kingslea B’s 14-0 demolition of St Mary’s elevated them above North Heath B and indeed meant they scored more goals in total than All Saints two places above.
Despite losing all their matches St Mary’s will take some comfort from enjoying a close match with North Heath B and scoring their first goals, three of them, in the process. The net should be looking a lot lower and bigger to them next time out as a consequence.
