The Horsham Area Primary Schools Year 3+4 Football League got underway in good style at the Tanbridge astroturf tonight with 13 teams contesting it in fine weather.
Teams were split into two pools for the first meeting. Pool A was topped by a Leechpool A team firing on all cyclinders, in front of the also unbeaten but draw specialising Arunside. Kingslea A took third spot to ensure their passage to the top tier in the next meeting.
The bigger Pool B also produced some great matches. Shelley was the only team to resist the Southwater A force with a 1-1 draw. Heron Way A also progressed comfortably despite their 2-0 reverse to the Southies. Village school Plaistow was the surprise package gaining four wins to enable them to sit at the top table next time out.
At the second meeting on 20th October the Upper Division will be contested by Leechpool A, Arunside, Kingslea A, Southwater A, Heron Way A, Plaistow and Shelley. The Lower Division will consist of Southwater B, Castlewood, Heron Way B, Leechpool B, St Mary’s and Kingslea B.
