Nine local small primary schools convened at The Bridge leisure centre’s athletics stadium yesterday to contest the District Sports Quadkids Athletics competition and event where all competing children complete a run, a sprint, a throw and a standing long jump. Year 3 and 4 children competed in the morning and year 5 and 6’s did likewise in the afternoon to provide a spectacular sight for large contingents of parents gathered to watch.

All the children competed with real gusto, quality and in a great spirit. Warnham won out in the year 3+4 age group, their total of 2409 being 63 ahead of nearest contenders All Saints Horsham. In the year 5+6’s there was a problem with the results spreadsheet which meant the results could not be declared on the day but when the data was finally processed All Saints were shown to have gone one better to top the charts with 2812 with St Robert Southwell in second place on 2678 points.
