Last Thursday it was the turn of the year 3s to show everyone their athletics prowess at Millais School in the final instalment of Horsham Primary Schools sports hall athletics events…and they did not disappoint putting on a super display of skill, effort and spirit.
Also on good form were the Millais sports leaders in running the event benefiting from the experience they had gained in the year 4 event two weeks prior.
It was nice to see the upper placings quite tightly bunched in terms of points total despite the usual suspects, Southwater and Heron Way, yet again occupying the top two berths. On this occasion Southwater topped the standings with 276 points, 18 in front of Heron Way. Just 10 further behind it was Kingslea making it to the winners’ rostrum on 248, eight in front of another perennial high performing team, Greenway. The was a greater points spread in the lower half. Shelley’s 222 put them in fifth, well ahead of Leechpool and Castlewood, and North Heath bringing up the rear but with smiles and admirable pluck as they did so.
