Year 5 Sports Hall Athletics Title Goes South
Another fantastic sports hall athletics competition proceeded at Forest School today as the year 5’s strutted their stuff. The programme ran a little faster and smoother than last week’s year 6 opener as the event organisers and Forest sports leaders benefitted from the experience and learning from their first effort.
Indeed the Forest leaders, drawn from years 8 and 9, provided great role models to the younger participant ranks showing real application, enthusiasm and maturity for their work. The year 5’s responded in kind with super spirit, sportsmanship, energy and endeavour.
As to the results the usual suspects occupied the top three spots. Greenway just edged out Kingslea by six points for a third that mirrored the achievement of their year 6’s. Indoor athletics powerhouse Heron Way had to be content with second place on this occasion accummulating 316 points which fell 12 points short of fellow sporting superpower Southwater.
RESULTS
1st Southwater – 328
2nd Heron Way – 316
3rd Greenway – 236
4th Kingslea – 230
5th Holbrook – 204
6th Leechpool – 190
7th Shelley – 174
