Leechpool Set the Early Netball Pace

Leechpool were fastest out of the blocks at the recent first Horsham Primary Schools Netball League meeting of the season with both their A and B teams winning all of their games, three and two of them respectively, in Pool A.

Unfortunately it was a truncated affair on The Bridge’s multicourts given that on the afternoon of the event Steyning had had to withdraw both its teams due to all roads from there being blocked, two due to floodwater and the A283 by a digger falling from a lorry. It’s tempting to say Steyning missed the boat but actually if they’d had one they just might have made it! Hopefully a bit of fixture re-jigging magic at the second meeting in January will be able to save the day for Steyning’s netballers.

Whilst both of Leechpool’s high riding teams scored goals at will All Saints and Kingslea A enjoyed mixed fortunes to put themselves into the mid-table ranks. Kingslea B and Leechpool C went winless first time out and will look forward to trying their luck again in the new year.
