Horsham District Primary Schools Basketball Competitions


·       Any primary school in the Horsham District

·       Horsham District Sports Development


·       Kingslea Primary School (using the outside court areas)


·       Year 3+4 and 5+6 pupils of any gender balance in separate competitions

·       Younger pupils can play at school discretion

Team size/entry

·       3-a-side on pitch, maximum squad size 5

·       Schools can enter as many teams as they wish although we may need to pare down the number allowed from a particular school if demand exceeds the 15 team capacity


  • Year 5+6 – Friday 19th April 2024
  • Year 3+4 – Friday 26th April 2024
  • Both 4.00-6.00pm


·       £20 per team

Weather considerations

·       If there is a need to cancel communication will be made as soon as possible

·       Children should dress appropriately in accordance with the prevailing weather conditions, including bringing extra clothes to wear if it’s cold and whilst waiting between matches

Kit considerations

·       Teams should be in uniform colours as far as possible, but bibs will be available in the event of clashing kits

·       Bring a minimum of one practice ball per team and make sure it’s marked to avoid mix ups

Parking and spectators

·      Kingslea car park or roadside outside

Ethos/Fair Play

·       Fun and participation as opposed to win-at-all-costs

·       No trophies/ no medals – certificates for all (winners, runners up, participation achievement recognised)

Format Guidance

·       Will be advised shortly after entry deadline referred to below

·       Main formatting principle will be round-robin to provide lots of games for all teams irrespective of success level

·       We will also aim to stand teams more by ability from the second meeting onwards
