Age/gender/eligibility | Different events aimed at different age bands – see below under dates/times section. We are particularly keen to work with boys and girls who are less confident and less naturally pre-disposed to sport and physical activity |
Team size/entry | 15 per team Each school can enter up to 2 teams. They can express interest in entering more if spaces remain by the entry deadline |
Dates/times | All Wednesdays, 9.30am-12noon Athletics Experience Festival – school years 1+2 – 16th October (athletics stadium and indoor hall) – indicative sports on the carousel are runs, jumps, throws and orienteering Team Games Festival – school years 3+4 – 27th November (outdoor multicourts) – indicative sports on the carousel are handball, pop lacrosse, basketball and dodgeball Golf and Frisbee Games Festival – school years 3+4 – 5th February (athletics stadium and indoor hall) – indicative sports on the carousel are tri-golf, disc golf, ultimate frisbee and footgolf Racquet Sports Festival – school years 5+6 – 5th March (athletics stadium and indoor hall) – indicative sports on the carousel are badminton, squash (adapted), table tennis and tennis NOW FULLY BOOKED Target Sports Festival – school years 1+2 – 7th May (athletics stadium and indoor hall) – indicative sports on the carousel are boccia, archery, new age kurling, hoopla, skittles, crocquet, soft darts, disc golf, bowls and scholen Striking and Fielding Festival – school years 3+4 – 11th June (multicourts) – indicative sports on the carousel are cricket, baseball, rounders and stoolball |
Cost | £85 per team of 15 per festival |
Rules | None, the activities are participatory with some gentle and informal competition built in |
Format | Carousel of activity stations. Each station will involve some skill and rule-based learning and building towards a go at playing the game in a proper or adapted fashion. |
Weather considerations | We have reference to the indoor athletics hall for temporary cover and contingency planning. However if an event is fully booked and the forecast and prevailing weather conditions are conclusive and very poor we may cancel the event beforehand, communicating as early as possible with schools on such a decision. |

Parking and spectators | There is plenty of parking in the leisure centre car park. Parents are able to watch activities in the outdoor athletics stadium and the outdoor multicourts but there is not enough space in the indoor athletics area to accommodate spectators |
Toilets | Available in the athletics stadium and in the main leisure centre building |

Conditions | Invoicing will be undertaken at the booking deadline No refunds will be issued for schools/teams that drop out after the booking deadline Additional teams can be accepted after the booking deadline at the discretion of the organisers In the event of a bad weather cancellation and where a re-arrangement process is undertaken no refunds will be issued |
