This year’s primary schools netball league came to a close today with the last meeting of Division B. More football honours came the way of Heron Way on Monday afternoon as their A team won the year 5+6 inclusive football competition hosted at their school. But it was close as they finished level on 17 points with two other teams – Southwater A and Heron Way B – and so had to rely on their superior goal difference to see them through.

Southwater Junior Academy took the competition honours of the event but in truth the biggest winner was fun. Around 90 children has a great time in a festival that, by teacher request, involved sections of skills development, rules learning and a second honour of competitive matchplay.
Southwater B confirmed their spot in the play-off final of the primary schools netball league Division B this evening but who will join them is still very much to be decided with Leechpool C and Kingslea A still in the running for second spot and Nuthurst C still a mathematical possibility if they hit form in their last match and their D team can cause an upset against Kingslea.
