The Horsham Large Schools Year 3 and 4 District Sports Quadkids Athletics competition finally came to pass at The Bridge leisure centre this morning two weeks after the originally planned event was cancelled due to the heatwave. Thankfully Take Two went well with eight teams (from the original nine) managing to make it and provide some excellent athletics for lots of teachers, coaches and parents to witness. Scores were quite tightly packed but in the final standings Southwater finished top of the table with 2992 points, 121 ahead of second placed Greenway and another 107 ahead of third placed North Heath.

All schools contributed volunteers to the officiating of the event and they did a great job leading to the earliest overall results declaration – 11.30am – in the 15-year history of the use of the quadkids format. Organiser Ian Ford commented that it was the smoothest and most complete results input exercise ever undertaken for the event thanks to the volunteers.

Well done to everybody connected to the event for making it one to remember.
