The Horsham Primary Schools Netball League got underway again tonight at The Bridge in the midst of early spring sunshine. Unfortunately Southwater had to drop out late so they conceded their planned games and seven teams were left to contest the first of two Phase 2 Division 1 meetings that will decide where glory goes.

Leechpool A started as favourites after their impressive Phase 1 exploits in November and by the end of this evening remain odds on after opening their acccount with three decisive victories. Kingslea put up a good fight to go down 4-2 against them and Heron Way shaped as a major threat too with two big wins as a prelude to their attempt to upset the applecart but Leechpool despatched them with surprising ease, 6-1.

Leechpool’s B team sit second but having played a game more than most other teams. Their results showed the depth that Leechpool have to call on if necessary.

Elsewhere Shelley, North Heath A, St Mary’s Horsham and Kingslea were also competitive, able to beat and draw with each other depending on how the close moments went in any particular match.

The final Division 1 meeting will run in a fortnight’s time.
