Horsham Walking Football is eager to encourage the local community to join it and enjoy thesport.
Based in Horsham it has over 70 local residents, male and female, playing regularly.
Games are noncontact, with teams of mixed ability, age, picked on the day. A session comprises of six 10/12-minute games. You can play in one or all six games.
Sessions offer players the opportunity for rehabilitation, to develop or regain fitness and for some, to continue the sport they love with options to participate in competitive games, leagues, and cup tournaments.
Ability, fitness and previous football experience is not required; however the fun is limited to the over 50’s. There is no higher age limited.
After each session, they work on their mental health with moans and groans over coffee and sometimes cake!

How it all works…

They play on Thursday and Saturday mornings (NEW Monday morning from May 2026). Subject to numbers two or four teams play at once on astroturf or grass pitches. Each session comprises of a series of short games. Teams are picked on the day, to ensure fair and competitive games.
NEW Monday Morning “Amberling Football,” sessions are designed for those returning to sport after a period away, rehabilitation after injury or surgery and those with health issues. The sessions are lower intensity, with increased distance between players. Ideal to building fitness, reboot skills. Session will be 10.00-11.00 am £5 per session. First session FREE
Thursday, meeting at 9.15 am, playing from 9.30 until 11.00 am. Teams of five or six play for about 10-15 minutes before changing opponents.
Saturdays we meet at 9:50 for a 10.00am start. Player numbers are lower, averaging sixteen, with three teams of five. Saturday is more competitive and ideal for people still working.
