A great first Horsham Primary Schools Netball League meeting of the season at The Bridge tonight with eight teams in Pool A taking the stage. Thankfully the weather was better than forecast allowing the children to express their developing skills to the full.
Leechpool B head the halfway standings after winning all four of their first meeting games. Leechpool A also went on a winning streak of three so lie second with a game in hand. Fireworks will be in order when these two meet in two weeks’ time.
St Mary’s and Heron Way A both gained 12 points but whilst the former is placed higher by virtue of more goals scored as goal difference is similar, the latter have a game in hand to exploit next time out.
Last season’s champs All Saints sit just below the halfway point and will need to pull out the stops in the second meeting if they are to get into the Phase 2 top tier.
There’s a bit of a bunfight in the bottom sector with all of Heron Way B, Nuthurst B and Nuthurst A being closely packed on meagre rations.
Well done to the young umpiring team tonight for keeping excellent control across the three courts in use.
