Walking can help prevent or manage health conditions, it can be an opportunity to chat with others, or provide a time to be mindful.
Did you know that you don’t have to run at parkrun?
There are many different reasons why people walk at parkrun. They might be taking their first steps to fitness, or they might have a health condition or disability. They might want to have the opportunity to chat to people, or they might prefer to soak up the atmosphere at a more leisurely pace knowing there is no cut-off time at parkrun.
There are those who love to walk and talk, whilst others prefer to walk in silence. Some parkwalkers bring a dog or a buggy, and some choose to use walking poles, frames or sticks.
