Netball League Pool A had to be cut short last Thursday evening as in the cold weather The Bridge’s multicourts, despite salting, became too slippy for children to play on. So after four rounds of play the decision was taken by the umpires to curtail the event and leave the remaining three rounds of games unplayed.

Consequently the organisers have decided to declare the unplayed games as scoreless draws and still proceed to calculate a final table for the group which dictates which play-off each team feeds into in March. 

Steyning’s two teams had missed the first meeting due to flood blocked roads so were both programmed on the second meeting for perpetual involvement. Steyning A performed well with three initial wins before being brought down to earth by high-riding Kingslea A, 4-2, as part of confirming their ascendency to the top tier of play-offs.

Leechpool A were dominant first time out and consolidate their top spot with two more wins, although their own B team pushed them hard, 2-1. Leechpool B finished third, ahead of Steyning A by virtue of goal difference, albeit when the two met Steyning belted them 5-0.

Leechpool C’s 2-0 win over All Saints split the two between sixth and seventh. Two more defeats left Kingslea B bottom.
