The Children’s Commissioner for England has spoken of the potential of this summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO in showing young girls across the country that people care about women’s football.

In The Big Ask, the largest-ever survey of children, conducted by the Children’s Commissioner for England last year, girls spoke passionately about their love of sport. Interestingly, girls were particularly vocal about football. Last summer during the Men’s Euros, football united the nation. This summer it is important to show girls that England has the same enthusiasm and excitement for the Women’s EURO.

The Children’s Commissioner for England is committed to encouraging girls to pursue their sporting dreams. Participation in team sports enables children to develop communication skills, create lasting friendships and build their confidence.
