Heron Way cruised to victory in the rescheduled Year 1 football tournament from the spring term at Leechpool primary school. Five teams from three schools took to the field to battle it out in a round robin formatted tournament where all teams played each other. Heron way crafted their way to victory with four wins from four as well as an impressive 26 goals scored, and an astounding zero conceded. 

The tournament started with a convincing 7-0 win for Heron Way over Leechpool C and a tightly contested 3-1 win for Trafalgar over Leechpool B on pitch 1. However, Leechpool B picked themselves up and gained their first win in a competitive 4-2 scoreline over friendly rivals, Leechpool C in their second game. Two more Leechpool duels ensued, seeing a well fought battle end in a 1-1 draw between the B and A sides, before Leechpool A disrupted Leechpool C’s last chance for a tournament win in a 4-2 victory. 

Trafalgar’s first game win spurred them on for two more 2-0 victories over Leechpool A and C before they were halted by the dominant Heron Way in a 7-0 loss. This resulted in a commendable second place for Trafalgar behind the run-away leaders, Heron Way. Leechpool B completed the top three with an alphabetical triumph over Leechpool A, with Leechpool C finishing in fifth place.
