Southwater B confirmed their spot in the play-off final of the primary schools netball league Division B this evening but who will join them is still very much to be decided with Leechpool C and Kingslea A still in the running for second spot and Nuthurst C still a mathematical possibility if they hit form in their last match and their D team can cause an upset against Kingslea.

Southwater B didn’t have too much trouble in extending their perfect winning run in the second phase brushing past Nuthurst D and St Mary’s Horsham. Kingslea A also had a good night further adding to St  Mary’s’ woes and then overturning Nuthurst C in a key and exciting match, 6-4. Leechpool C also joined the two wins on the night club at the expense of lowly Kingslea and Shelley B team outfits, and thus reanimating their hopes of a play-off final place.

Whilst their close rivals strengthened their positions Nuthurst C’s star faded. Not only did Kingslea A strike a big blow, Shelley B also hit them by surprise, nudging them out by the odd goal in a seven goal thriller and propelling the Broadbridge Heathers into mid-table at a stroke.

A draw shared between Nuthurst D and Kingslea B raised them off the bottom spot now occupied by St Mary’s Horsham. It will be an interesting sub-plot in two weeks’ time to see what order the closely packed bottom half teams finish in.
