More Indoor Athletics Glory for Heron Way

There’s just no stopping Heron Way Primary School when it comes to athletics. This week it was their Year 4s proving themselves faster, higher and stronger in the sports hall athletics event at Millais School amid the opposition of six other schools. Keeping to the form of the previous Year 3 event and indeed recent history, Southwater Junior Academy achieved runners-up spot.

In the Year 3 competition the margin was wide, here it was 13 points; not a lot when the winning score was 455! Great to see these two sporting powerhouses setting the performance bar high. Leechpool will be pleased to have seen their crew take third place on 395 points. Well done to all teams for competing with such gusto.

Talking about high performance another word of praise for the sports leaders of Millais School. This time they stepped up even further to take more of the organisational responsibility to ensure event director Dave Ingram became more of a support figure and safety net. Well done girls, fantastic work.
