Leechpool Keep their Cool Amid Netball Goal Glut

Division A of the Horsham Primary Schools Netball League reconvened at The Bridge leisure centre tonight following the Christmas break. The third gathering of the top tier proved to be a cracker with 62 goals scored on the night across the eight matches played.

Leechpool A hit 17 of that overall total to confidently account for two opposing A teams, those of Shelley and Kingslea, and further enhance their maximum points record. All Saints looked good to match them as a consequence of their 12-7 frantic win over Shelley A but then in the next match they made their first stumble, 4-2 against Nuthurst’s first team. Nuthurst also took out lowly Southwater B so now lie in second place just behind the Saints.

In mid-table territory Southwater A had a good night with clean wins against both Kingslea teams to rise one place to fourth at the expense of Shelley A.

In the lower reaches the big match saw Kingslea B and Southwater B battle it out to send the other to the basement spot. It went the way of the Kings by 3-1 and now the two Kingslea teams both have 10 points going into the final first phase meeting in two weeks’ time.
