A fantastic second meeting of the Horsham Primary Schools Netball League Division B took place tonight at The Bridge. In the upper tier of the league some unbeaten records remain in place at a similar stage; no such luxury here however, in the midst of close and unpredictable games every team has lost at least one and, on the flip side, every team has won at least one. The result is that teams are packed together with only a nine point spread from top to bottom.

Shelley B were the biggest risers on the topsy-turviest of nights coming out the right side of the odd goal in five against both Leechpool B and Nuthurst B. Ironically the fact that Nuthurst B gained a bonus point as a consequence of the narrowness of their defeat was just enough to hold off Shelley’s second string from going top.

Prior to their first loss Nuthurst B had beaten Leechpool C 5-1 to gain their third league win. In keeping with the haphazard nature of the night Leechpool C bounced back in their second match of the night with a 4-0 trouncing of Shelley C.

North Heath dominated high-flying Nuthurst C only to go down to a last minute winner from their opponents. They then squeezing past St Mary’s Horsham in another five-goal thriller. Seven points on the night still represented good progress however. Nuthurst C still well placed in third and only one point off the top. St Mary’s had already suffered defeat at the hands of Shelley C, 3-1, so they could do with a lesson in tightrope walking from Shelley B.

Leechpool B lead a pack of three mid-table teams on 14 points after rescuing a night which had begun with the loss to Shelley B with a 2-0 win over a Nuthurst C team which now lie directly below them as a consequence of similar goal difference but less goals scored.
