Kings Crowned Year 5+6 Basketball Champs
The next generation of basketball talent in the Horsham area was on show at Kingslea School tonight as 13 primary school year 5+6 teams congregated to play their annual tournament. Host school Kingslea proved the dominant force as its A and B teams took first and second spots respectively, Kingslea A winning all its five matches on the night to earn their glory.
Leechpool A Edge Out Shelley to Win Year 3 Football Tournament
The Year 3’s brought the latest instalment of the primary school football tournament series at Tanbridge tonight and it was Leechpool A who took the top prize with a victory against Shelley in the final, on penalties after the match ended scoreless at the end of normal time.
Heron Way Year 4’s Win Sports Hall Athletics Championships
This season’s third and final Horsham area primary schools sports hall athletics event, the year 4s, was won by Heron Way yesterday as they amassed 368 points, 16 ahead of nearest challengers Southwater Junior Academy and another 34 ahead of third placed Kingslea.
Southwater Untouchable in Year 4 Football Tournament
A tremendous night of year 4 football at the Tanbridge astroturf tonight and it was Southwater A being the most tremendous of the nine teams there, winning all eight of its encounters to win the event in style, six points ahead of nearest rivals Kingslea.
Year 5 Football Glee for Southwater B
Southwater B are the year 5 football tournament winners after beating Heron Way A on penalties in a tight final. There were some classy passing football teams gracing the event – Southwater A, Heron Way A and Pulborough – but Southwater B showed that grit and determination can be just as important. Their ability to dig in and grind out results saw them nudge second place in the group stage and then tough out the play-offs stage with two scoreless draws followed by success with the spot kick deciders. There’s more than one way to be successful.
Leechpool Take Netball League Title
Leechpool A won the Horsham Primary Schools Netball League, topping the Division A title after maintaining their unbeaten status all the way to the end of the process. North Heath A pushed them all the way, coming in as runners-up and Southwater came third on goal difference after they enjoyed an excellent final evening of four straight victories.
